Wounded Warrior Regiment’s Medical Cell

While the WWR’s care is focused on non-medical support, every Marine assisted by the WWR is recovering from visible and/or invisible injuries or illnesses.  The Medical Cell is staffed by licensed clinical consultants; knowledgeable advocates who establish a relationship with  Marines and families, and bridge the gap between medical and non-medical team members to support the his or her recovery.

The WWR Medical Cell is an outstanding resource for commands with wounded, ill or injured service members in their ranks.  They can assist commands by evaluating the needs of WII Marines and sailors and answering questions about medical symptoms and diagnoses.  They also provide instruction on PTSD, TBI, depression, substance use and their impact on post-deployment adjustment and family relationships.

The Medical Cell support isn’t limited to commands.  They ensure smooth  transfers and continuity of care between medical treatment facilities.  They also work with military treatment facilities and VA hospitals/clinics by connecting wounded, ill and injured Marines with screening and treatment.

Medical Cell personnel are located at the WWR Headquarters, Battalion East, Battalion West, and the Hawaii Detachment as well as the Wounded Warrior Call Center. To contact the Medical Cell for support and help finding services, call 1-877-487-6299 or e-mail the Medical Cell at WWRMEDCELL@usmc.mil.
